Happy Pizza

Ingredients

    For the Crust:
  • 1 cup warm water (38C / 100F)
  • 3 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 2 1/3 cup all purpose flour
    For the toppings:
  • tomato sauce
  • cheese
  • onions
  • pepperoni
  • and any other topping you want!

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400F and grease a pan with oil (large rectangular or large cirular). Dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over water and stir until dissolved. Leave to proof for 8 minutes covered (cling wrap/kitchen towels).

Mix flour and salt in bowl. Pour oil and yeast mixture. Stir well. Kneed dough for about 5-7 minutes making sure to press down on it and pushing it away from you. Partially fold dough back on itself. Give it a quarter turn and repeat. Coat the dough with a little bit of oil, which prevents hard surface from forming. Cover it with cling wrap/kitchen towel and leave it to rise for around 15 minutes in a warm area.

On a flour dusted surface, flatten dough with palm and use roller to roll dough into a circular form or square depending on your pan. Place dough on oiled pan and stretch in all directions to cover the pan. Spread pizza sauce and add toppings (tomato sauce, cheese, etc). Bake pizza for 15-25 min until dough is lightly brown and cheese has melted.
