Italian Style Caprese Salad

  • 4 large plum tomatoes
  • 150 grams of "mozzarella di bufala" cheese
  • 10 large basil leaves
  • 50 ml of extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt to the taste

Preparation

Cut the tomatoes into round slices (about 4 to 5 slices per tomato). Place the tomato slices into a large serving plate and sprinkle the tomatoes with salt. Drizzle the tomatoes with half of the olive oil. Cut the cheese into slices, put the cheese slices over the tomatoes and top with half pieces of basil leaves. Sprinkle the rest of the olive oil on top. Put into the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes to keep the salad cold before serving.
