Spanish Style Garlic Prawns

A recipe contributed by Marisa

Ingredients

  • 400 grams of prawns (cooked and tails on)
  • 10 cloves of garlic (peeled)
  • 100 ml of olive oil
  • Parsley for garnishing
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

In a large pan, sauté the prawns and garlic in three table spoons of the olive oil for 5 to 7 minutes on medium heat. Stir continuously to avoid burning the garlic cloves and to ensure the prawns are heated on both sides. (Alternatively, you might also cook raw prawns. Peel and devein them after fully cooked, but leave the tails on). If any, drain the excess of liquid from the pan.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Distribute the prawns with the garlic on four individual oven-proof gratin dishes and add a touch of salt to taste. Pour the remaining olive oil into the gratin dishes. Place the dishes uncovered in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Take the dishes from the oven and set aside to cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley leaves and serve the garlic prawns with your favorite type of bread.
